You lead your life seeking the truth until the process if one survives that long that is leads to the Realisation of the organisation of the Universe. Once everything accordingly falls into place within the mind and its perceptions, you set a new course to live according to the realities determined.
This formula for satya-advaita yoga is faultless but extremely sensitive on a daily and indeed moment by moment basis for it means that one is independently pursuing the path while balancing ones life within the nuances of Mother Nature that inherently is set with the family life as a child, then teenager, then a spouse, with responsibilities known in Hindu parlance as kartabya, that is to say the duties and responsibilities at a material level such as earning a living to maintain oneself and one's family in a home, and cater for the needs of the spouse and children which is the first priority, not the individuals ambitions to understand the organisation of the Universe as a scientist. One has to survive each day and do whatever is necessary to aid that survival including losing one's dignity such as being thrown into the dustbin of history with a career in the doldrums and then ekeing out a living on State-benefits if necessary or living on one's spouse's income as well. To all the individual sadhaka would appear to be mentally disordered with paranoid schizophrenia or persistent delusional disorder and even though deep inside he knows that he/she is sane, the diagnosis must be accepted and the prescribed medications taken regularly to appease the family and the Mental Health authorities, including taking recourse to a psychotherapist in a use and abuse manner just to aid survival so that one's lives long-enough to see the day when Realisation is complete.
Thus, it is entirely possible to be married to an atheist wife and an atheist child and continue with the truth-perseverance towards the Realisation of the universe. It is also entirely possible to live in a culture dominated by a different religion and survive to see this day. It could take a whole life time of studies of both the internal environment (the human body and mind) and the external environment of society and the world to find out what lies in both dimensions of Reality. Nothing should be ignored as irrelevant in going through the yoga, so one needs to be entirely nonjudgmental on everything and continue with the truth-search.
