TCLP-UK supports the Peers demands for changes. More forms of Id acceptance are needed to prevent people from getting disenfranchised from democracy: the range of ID could include any official documents with a photograph with passports and driving licences being the obvious examples but there are many others that should be acceptable, including rail passes.
Prevention of voter fraud is a must but it has to be sensitive to the need to maximise the participation of the electorate in local and general elections.
