There has been much discussion on whether leaving the ECHR over the Rwandan scheme is a price worth paying
It would be wrong the nation to sever its association with the ECHR. Human Rights matters according to the principle that God created the universe for people to not be persecuted for doing what they can to come to the United Kingdom in small boats to escape poverty and wars in their own country.
Man came out of Africa around 80, 000 years ago and travelled to greener pastures to escape overcrowding in existing locations, so that today we have human beings all over the world. To restrict the flow of migrants with a justified claim for asylum into the United Kingdom must be left to the Courts to decided. The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom has ruled the Rwandan scheme unlawful, whether or not the United Kingdom subscribes to the ECHR. This was the correct decision. The scheme should be abandoned not only because it is unworkable in practical terms but in its very principle of upholding the values of human rights TCLP-UK rejects the Conservative Party's government policy on the issue.
