I read todays news on the front page of the Daily Express and felt very good that the Queen has used her influence to protect freedom of speech and the legacy of Roald Dahl over his books.
It makes us very optimistic that the culture of the United Kingdom will evolve but the history not eradicated in the process of the development of society.
Queen Camilla gave a speech to leading authors about attempts to ''curb'' freedom of expression. I support such interventions from the Royal Family at its highest levels.
The original books of authors must be preserved as history and for people to admire the thoughts of the time that they lived in with the resources and limitations they had to express themselves then.
Today we are living in different times but our political correctness in order to increase sales of previous works is totally wrong.
New authors will come through to write for today's generation and as we see from JK Rowling's books on Harry Potter they will acquire fame and admiration.
