TCLS believes having deeply studied the conflict that the two-State solution will never work. Gaza needs to be an independent country governing itself with its democratically elected leaders without the superimposing alien power of Israel which should end its land, sea and air blockade of the Gaza strip.
As to what happens to the Palestinians in the West Bank, it would depend on its democratically elected Authority. The Founder of the TCLS has proposed to the Israeli government that it would be prepared to underatke a peace-making mission with such a solution in mind.
Those proposing the two-state solution instead of a three-state solution are living in cloud cukoo land that we would see the end of violence from terrorists like Islamic Jihad and Hamas, for history shows this to be a cycling of wars every so often. Hamas will cease to exist as a terrorist unit if Gaza was an independent country TCLS has believed for years. For one thing how can Gaza and the West Bank be connected physically in the geographical sense.
We shold not go by history that Palestinians should be one State being culturally akin to each other for every generation of people live differently in terms of their priorities.
Israel has been patient with past terrorism from both Gaza and its northern border, and has constantly been on a war footing that requires considerable development and utilisation of military resources including conscription of soldiers to the national cause of self-defence. This is unsustainable for the Israeli people. who need to focus on economic developent and the prosperity of its population.
One cannot negotiate with terrorists like Hamas and Hezbollah and the change must come from within Gaza. Hamas must give up its weapons and release all hostages as part of a settlement with Israel that gives Gaza statehood, and a seat in the United Nations.
For now a pause in the war is needed for discussions to take place between negotiators who accept what the TCLS is proposing here:
