Environmental Management from the Conservative Libertarian Society
Most adults are one way or another conscious of the environment, the need for a clean body, a clean house, clean streets and clean Nature so that they can feel more comfortable and remain at ease with their surroundings. Pollution is not just an eyesore; it damages our health and those of other living creatures.
Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant as plants utilise carbon dioxide as the fundamental building materials for food that form the web of Nature. It is the greenhouse issue that most people are concerned about as they associate it with Climate Change brought about by the burning of fossil fuels at unsustainable levels. And the burning of fossil fuels at a rate that the oceans cannot absorb will lead to higher temperatures in the atmosphere, or so they say.
Even if it was true that carbon is the sole cause (along with methane release) in causing global warming, that is a symptom of the mismanagement of the environment and the appropriate solution therefore lies in developing the means to manage the environment better so as to achieve a constant rate of the economy when the Earth-atmosphere-ocean systems are at equilibrium constantly. Beyond that there is nothing man can do to prevent global warming from natural causes.
The Paris Summit put the focus of world attention to the threat of global warming in the next 100 years but global temperature rises and falls due to other sources of influences such as changes in the sun from what I understand. I am not an expert in Climatology but a generalist who addresses the root causes of the environmental degradation in all its forms, be those changes in weather patterns, soil erosion, river and ocean pollution, or natural causes such as earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions. The history of the Earth shows that these have changed continually since the Earth first came about and through life forms moderated the atmosphere to what it is today. We humans are the major life form on the planet now. What we do will change the atmosphere into the future leaving aside the natural causes. Should we be concerned about the future course of the planet in terms of the impact of human activities? that is the only question that should be addressed. For the planet will take care of itself no matter what we do: when we run out of fossil fuels and uranium, we will be forced to reduce Gaia hypothesis asserts. Coronavirus pandemic may be a symptom of such rampant mismanagement of the environment. If we continue on the trajectory of our path as humanity we may perish before global warming increases, make it impossible for large parts of the world to become habitable. We are therefore getting ahead of ourselves in setting 1.5 degrees rise in global temperatures by 2050 as the acceptable means of man’s management of the environment going forwards. No rise should be aimed at from the scientific evidence of the impact of human activities.
The only course of managing the environment is to deal the pollution so that we humans can have decent and healthy lives and that would apply to our children too. Let our children worry about their children. They are growing up at a time in human history when there is plenty of factual and scientific information available on the internet for them to organise their lives when they would be the decision-makers. We should not live their lives for them. They may never be born. So the rule of thumb that applies is that worry only about your own family and do not have any further interest. Do not get herded into other people’s agendas and especially not that of politicians who earn massive amounts of money and enjoy the power they have over you by enslaving you. Life is for living freely and conscientiously in the libertarian spirit is not managed by external sources of power, be that man or God.
There is more to Environment than the wider Nature: we humans are also part of the Environment and need to manage ourselves in a reasonable manner. What is the reasonable manner? It is rational thinking taking all facts into account and arriving at a judgment on our next course of action.
Most human beings are ill-educated and live in ignorance, ignorance which has been ingrained in their brains since childhood through Holy Books and Proverbs such as ‘Ignorance is Bliss’. Nothing can be farther from the truth than that. Knowledge is power to overcome all obstacles to one’s missions.
It is necessary to chart a destiny for oneself as an ideal. I came to that ideal 10 years ago and since then it has been 16 hours a day endeavour on the computer studying Humanology and the organisation of States to have the command over facts that I do possess now. I have been freelance scholar secluded from the incessant mission-polluting ideas thrown at me to remain committed to generating Knowledge for World Conservation. I had no idea that I would get this far in my research. In the next phase of my career, I shall be focussing on transferring the knowledge that I have gained from research to practical application. This is the subject of this personal interest now. While there is life there is work that should be done. There is plenty to do but the mission should be single minded and one should not waver from it if it has philanthropy as its direction of travel.
The reactions that I receive to my ideas from any relevant quarters will also be reproduced in my websites and in the Book project that I embarked on entitled ‘Managing the Environment’ with Lulu Publishing under the Imprint of the The Conservative Libertarian Publications Limited registered with Companies House, England, so that the reader gets a balanced picture of the considerations that underly the direction of travel in terms of any common road map that is eventualy identified. I use my platform at The Conservative Libertarian Society (https://theconservativelibertariansociety.com) and its political offshoots The Conservative Libertarian Party of the United Kingdom (https://theconservativelibertarianpartyoftheunitedkingdom.com) and The Conservative Libertarian Party of the United States of America (https://the-conservative-libertarian-party-of-usa.odoo.com/) to discuss these the issues involved openly in Forums.
The project started getting written during the COP26 Summit in Glasgow United Kingdom during first few days of November 2021 to monitor the progress of the management strategies that are going to be finalised at the Meeting of World Leaders and gets taken forward with a view to addressing the Climate Change emergency. It will examine the possibilities for real change and drives through the author's agenda as the President of The Conservative Libertarian Society.
The world is in a state of confusion through which states are managing their individual problems of feeding their own people and looking after their welfare in the way they see fit. Each country will resolve its own issues. In the view of the Conservative Libertarian Society there is a need to tackle the impending doom by massively reducing demand on natural resources, and not continually strive to generate economic growth from investments that are short to medium term in duration before new technological innovations become needed to mitigate the adverse effects of that demand-led economic management which will only cause further problems to the Environment as unforeseen consequences. For new technologies fuel further demand because new goods and services come at higher prices initially at least and this makes the ordinary people to abandon austerity to strive for higher incomes which goes hand in hand with corruption at a massive scale across the world. Demand is what should be frozen and that is the only means of environmentally sustainable lifestyles for whichever country is interested in Climate Change issues. You control demand through restriction of credit, and you control the damage to the environment. The basic law of home economics will then apply that one cuts one’s coat according to the cloth that one has, and so lives within each country's means. All supply chains of transfers of goods from one end of the globe to the other end at the cost of massive amounts of crude oil and generating pollution from spillages and destroying coastal areas and deeper oceans to destroy biodiversity will then cease.
The more you spend no matter on what, the worse global warming gets, whether the millions, billions and trillions is spent on fossil fuel extraction, or solar power, wind power, and tidal power technologies, it does not matter. The crux of the matter is expenditure. Expenditure generates population explosion which in turn generates more expenditure and more global warming: Do anyone understand this?
So, the net zero target strategy pf COP26 Summit is putting the cart before the horse and will solve nothing globally. Politicians are not the appropriate people to make any such decisions, only scientific experts should be in government or their decisions the politicians have to carry out so that they are not marginalised out of the genuine solutions they may have to offer to the issue of Climate Change.
The governments own all the money because they own their own patch of land. The money has been accumulated from past expenditures using slave labour to exploit colonised lands for their natural resources and cultivated crops like rice and sugar cane for which they displaced the colonised natives to distant countries to be slaves. The money accumulated from this led to the Industrial Revolution which generated capitalism in that the money owned by the Central Banks was distributed to Private Banks which in turn lent the money to entrepreneurs to exploit the natural resources around the world. So, when the government needs money, it can force the Private Banks to lend back to the government to get on with its grandiose ideas on spending ever more for political ends. That is how it works. So, the way forward is to nationalise all the private banks in individual countries and force the governments to govern within the means of the nation. Then they can invest whatever amount they wish to on whatever they want to. Is this Communism or Socialism. Communism does not have democracy. Let each country find its own path forward without multinational corporations having the money to go in and invest in other countries. All the money earned by each country should be kept within the country.
Why is this important? It is necessary for all of us to concern ourselves not just of our backyard but also distant places where people go for holidays and for business purposes. Self-sufficiency is needed to get people to work their own patch of land with their hands in allotments, not focus money on educating children to go into selected industries to maintain economic growth. A slow and methodical decline in economic prospects is what needs to be calculated instead of Net Zero Strategy on Carbon emissions.
