Over the past 9 months or so since the new government of Israel came to power, Benjamin Netanyahu who has himself been involved in legal issues of a personal nature has served his nation without batting an eyelid.
This leader of a democratic country has secured a mandate to rule in whichever way the government sees appropriate: there is no outside interference allowed. This applies to the reforms that he has been lawfully executing on limiting the powers of the courts as he is fully entitled to do within the Constitution of Israel.
Violent protests in the streets of Israel were disappointing to the Conservative Libertarian Society which only believes in peaceful and lawful demonstrations against any decision of a government that has only recently been democratically elected. The Security Services have therefore clamped down on protestors on the streets of Tel Aviv and many of them have been arrested to be brought to the courts to decide on their fate.
The Conservative Libertarian Society believes that democratically elected governments have their duties to their States and the population should support their governments no matter what complexion the of the ruling party or the coalition as in the case of Israel are. If some sectors of the pupulation disagree with the decisions of these governments, they will have to grin and bear it until the next opportunity to change the government comes in a general election.
Personal ideas of justice and humanity are subservient to the wishes of a democratically elected government in power. Violent protests both inside a country and outside the country as in the United Kingdom during Benjamin Netanyahu's visit in the past few days show the same inhumanity that they complain about from a different agenda that they hold and should be disregarded.
The democratically elected government of a nation has a job to do: to provide food, shelter, clothing, transport, security from enemies outside the country and those within. Bilateral relations between democratically elected governments forming the essential ties to assist each other when threatened by authorititarian regimes requires such an understanding.
Every country has changing demographics during the course of history and governments need to be adaptable to take the decisions that the present generation needs with a plan of action for the next generation. So the Conservative Libertarian Society supports such ties as part of the evolution of democracy worldwide, which is the goal of the Society.
